Lion President Dolores Keller called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. at the Springtown Fire Hall.

  1. MINUTES – Lion Baumgartner
    The minutes from the May 8
    th Board Meeting were read and accepted with no corrections or additions.
  2. TREASURER’S REPORT – Lion Helm


The Treasurer’s report from March was approved with no additions or corrections.  Lion Treasurer Helm reported that there was $2,234 in the Administrative Fund and $17,362 in the Charity Fund.  



3.       MEMBERSHIP (Currently 32 Members) – Lion Wohlbach


Lion Immediate Past President Hallman announced that he has two prospective members who most likely will visit with our Club at the September dinner meeting.



           4.      PROGRAMS / EVENTS – Lion Ruth Cline

  


July 17

Springfield Twp. Night at the Iron Pigs, 6:00 p.m.

August 14

Regular Dinner Meeting at Silver Creek A.A.   Dan Getman will speak to our club about Senior Citizens.

September 11

Regular Dinner Meeting at Silver Creek A.A.  A speaker from the USO will speak to our Club.

September 27

Springtown Community Day.  There will be a sign-up sheet at the August dinner meeting.

October 9

Regular Dinner Meeting at Silver Creek A.A.  Kelly Shaak will speak to our Club about seeing eye dogs.

October 11

Breakfast at Applebee’s Fund Raiser

November 13

Regular Dinner Meeting at Silver Creek A.A.  Abel Moldanado, Band Director at Palisades High School is the scheduled speaker.

December 11

Annual Christmas Party at the Springtown Inn


              

5. BREAKFAST AT APPLEBEE’s – October 11, 2014 – Lion Ruth Cline


Lion Ruth Cline reported that Lion Immediate Past President Hallman has agreed to wear a Lions costume for t his event.



6. GAME DINNER – March 26, 2015 - Lions Linda Shea and Tom Cline


a.

There was no report.


   

          7, SCOUT TROOP 81 LIAISON – Lion Tom Cline


a.

Lion Tom Cline reported that Troop 81 held its Court of Honor on Monday, June 2, 2014, at Springtown Rod and Gun Club.  Lions Dolores Keller, Ruth Cline, and Tom Cline were in attendance.  This was the last regular Scout meeting until the fall, Troop now on summer schedule.



          8. OLD BUSINESS / PENDING ITEMS / TABLED ITEMS


a.

New Fundraising Ideas – Lion Linda Shea
There were no new fundraising ideas.

b. 

Lion Membership Table / Reinstitution of Lion Bake Sale Days at the Springtown Fire House - Lion Tom Cline
A membership table and planned back sale is planned for October in conjunction with our Club’s White Cane fundraising efforts.  There will be a sign-up sheet at the September dinner meeting.

c.

Lions Good Samaritan Award – PDG Morton
The Board voted unanimously to form a Good Samaritan Award Committee to draft criteria for two awards (the first at a District 14-A discounted price of $200 with all subsequent awards presented for $400) to be presented at a dinner meeting.  All the money donated toward the award will go to the District 14-A Charitable Foundation.   Lions Hallman, Dolores Keller, Anita & Charles Morton, and Voth volunteered to be on the committee.


                

         9. NEW BUSINESS


a.

The Board voted unanimously to form a 70th Anniversary Celebration Committee to begin planning our Club’s anniversary in 2016.  Lions Freeh and Ruth Cline volunteered to serve on the Committee.  Lion Freeh will be our Club’s President during our Club’s 70th Anniversary year.

b.

The Board voted unanimously to continue to send our Club’s monthly bulletin, The Lions Roar, via the U.S. mail.

c.

The board worked on a preliminary budget which is attached.  Members will have until the regular dinner meeting on August 14th to make suggestions regarding the budget in its entirety or on specific line items.



       10. CORRESPONDENCE
             All correspondence was read and discussed.

 

      11. LIONS ALWAYS CARE
             It was announced that cards were sent to all members celebrating June & July birthdays.
  

      12.  ADJOURNMENT
              The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
